International TWATTING break – A chance to reflect…

If we were being real with ourselves I would say most fans’ predictions came to light in this transfer window, I confess I had moments of hope and belief that FSG, Edwards and Klopp would surprise us with a few additions to the ranks as they have in the past, out of left field. But neigh, we’re left with a mixed cocktail of numbness, powerlessness, confusion, acceptance with a dash of dispiritedness and a twist of resentfulness. I don’t know, whatever you wanna call it. It’s not all doom and gloom but it’s not a bouquet full of roses. Those have been reserved for Susanna apparently, thanks nev..

With the season barely started we’re currently in a decent position, only spuds leading the race which is about as scary as Firmino’s smile. Overall we looked dominant vs the plastics, in a way 11 vs 11 may have given us the edge. We move on now with 2 points dropped. A good sign knowingly how that alone is frustrating as hell.

So here lies out final productivity during this window. A cocky approach considering we just scraped through to CL footie this season, definitely not capitalised on.

For 3 years running after winning the champions league and coming just 1 point behind the Shitcakes up until now, we really haven’t improved upon our first team except maybe the likes of Thiago and Jota, but they’re arguably still on the fringes of the first 11.

Being positive about this statement you could say what a fucking job Klopp and his team have done breeding consistency into the already strong mentality of the players. It’s a feet worth rewarding, not just with extended contracts but the fans appreciation of how well the team and I guess, the whole football club has been running under Klopp and FSG. They have their critics and I know most of us are certainly amongst that, I guess we have to bite the bullet and hope they realise come January there needs to be some real thought into how they’re stabilising the club for the future. Klopp brings us certainty with signings so at least when someone does come in we should now know he’ll be a strong addition.

It’s clear looking at this data below our strategy and time was spent on securing players contracts.

New deals so far.

We have no choice now but to look forward and hope we don’t suffer any more… actually fuck it i’m not going to say it because I know what will happen and not just the stick from you lot haha.

I’m now resided to feeling ‘Quietly Optimistic’ for each game we play, certainly at Anfield and its a feeling that’s fairly common now after that amazing patch of dominance faded. Let’s be realistic here, we absolutely have one of the best starting 11’s in the league, certainly in defence. But with the likes of Harvey coming through and Keita staying fi…. functional ? we have the opportunity to start putting together proper performances and winning streaks.

We also need to get our confidence and guile back again, instill that swag we only recently lost and that arrogance where it’s just 2nd nature to try that first time ball through or that first time shot. What we have is an extremely decent core, but they need to stay fit. Yes the team is aging but we still have a great combination between experience and youth, Harvey and Curtis can only give the older lot a boost as well.

Lets fucking get after it with all we have and create a season worth remembering because we do have the ingredients, they just need to show us they have minerals.

Bring on Leeds on the 12th Sept..
