West ham vs Liverpool – A point to prove

The last game before another international break. Two in-form teams with points to prove and points to gain.

31st January saw us come away with a convincing display and 3-1 win last outing at the London Stadium, couple salah goals to boot., coming away with 3 points with a make-shift Hendo and Nat at the back was the biggest talking point from that game. H2H we’re unbeaten against this lot in our last 10 meetings but now only 2 points separates us, drawing at home for us against Brighton vs a 4-1 away win for the hammers makes this arguably the most unpredictable game this weekend…

A fair amount of hype for this tussle is breeding but we have everything in us to calm the storm and come away with a very important 3 points. Fuck it I’m calling this a 6 pointer because it technically is, which suggests a draw could be on the cards but we’d be quite disappointed with a point I feel. We normally do well against Moyes’ teams and Klopp normally outplays him. The players will be arriving in London with a point to prove as well from a really annoying draw at home after being 2 up, they fixed this against Atletico so the learning curve is sharp at the moment.

Of course this is a tough fixture, but West ham haven’t come up against us this season yet, we’re no bloody pushovers, they’re the ones that should be bricking it. We’re solid from front to fucking back. I’m telling myself any nervous feelings should be overshadowed by confidence. Unbeaten in 25 games speaks for itself.

Averaging just over 60% possession in their last 5 league games West ham have proven to be good at keeping the ball, whoever maintains midfield control on Sunday will effect the game more. So glad to have Fab back, which, like VVD in defence just his presence gives the rest of the pack some psychological freedom. Hopefully Salah brings some psycho while Hendo lays down some logical.
