Rafa vs Klopp , red vs blue, history vs mystery.
Whenever this fixture comes around there is always an aura of nostalgia that comes with it, now we have an extra part to that, enter Rafa. So far he’s not having the best of times, PL 13 W4 D3 L6. Form deserving of a current 14th place. An emotional game for him awaits though as he welcomes the club that brought him the most honours. We will also welcome him bringing us some of the best memories of a generation especially the road to and at Istanbul. His work for the J96/7 will also be remembered and appreciated.
Current H2H – Played 289, LFC winning 121, 85 draws, 83 losses. Lets make it 122.
Some breaking news. Unfortunately Ray Kennedy has passed at the age of 70. One of the stalwarts of what LFC represents. Pure Class.
“Kennedy made 393 appearances for the Reds between 1974 and 1981, scoring 72 goals. He won five First Division titles, three European Cups, the UEFA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his hugely successful Anfield career.”
I’ve found this gem on YouTube.
The Redmen are in a really good moment right now after the last int. break, our goal scoring plights are there for all to see, now sitting at a firm 3 goals/game which is insane in itself but the way we’re scoring is also extremely promising.
The timing of the movement in attack delivering smooth interchangeable play underlines how focused the players are, everyone seems to be on the same wavelength. Once this happens the enjoyment of the work starts to flow,. Thiago’s goal vs Saints encapsulates this well, to try something different, show some flair and shoot from outside the box gives everyone a little lift in confidence. The thing is we’re not arrogant with it as well, players are busting a gut to get to that second ball, once that happens we’re then immediately in formation waiting to pounce.
Our midfield right now is on song, the only thing that will disrupt this is congestion I hope. Fabinho has been world class of late putting in performances that are more than just the subtle off-the-ball work and breakup play. Along with Thiago he’s helping conduct this team into creating chances, making the difficult looks easy at times. An important part of tomorrow lies with how he performs controlling those spaces, also wouldn’t mind seeing him venture slightly forward and let one loose , he’s due a scorcher !

Klopp throwing heavy shade at Ballon d’or – ‘What is it a Journalist vote ? , well then it’s your fault’ 🙂
We have another chance to win pride of the city on Wednesday. This is an important 3 points up for grabs. Some great games these next 3 days but only interesting if we swipe those 3 points from Goodison. Gerrard is now on a run of 2 wins from 2, which bodes well to put a strong performance in against Shitty, all eyes on that game before we kick off!
