Rangers vs Liverpool – Back on the CL Wagon !

A timely distraction from the league as we take a hop skip and a jump over the boarder to face Rangers in the CL group stage. This has all of the ingredients to be a proper dog fight, maybe the kind of fixture we need right now with our current form, forget everything leaving it all out there and just play football. The Gers will be right up for it, we have a chance here to squash any questions around our ability to compete in the CL.

Coming off an undeserved loss in London (thanks VAR) there are a few injuries that has hit our 1st 11 with Trent and Diaz out of contention. Many thought Trent could do with a little break so here it is I guess, Diaz’ injury doesn’t look promising as well, maybe MCL. We’ll see where we are with him soon but doesn’t look like he’ll be back until December now / after WC.

This does now mean doors have been opened, this ain’t so bad. Whenever fringe players come in it seems to freshen up the squad a little, giving players something else to think about. We have a few options to replace Diaz including Jota and Carvalho, but Jones is also training again and I’ve always thought he’s more effective in an attacking role rather than a 6 or an 8. He has that drive and creativity that can create chances, especially with Nunez in front causing havoc. After an impressive start to his career he strayed a touch and had a few injuries, however a fresh and hungry Jones that could have a chance to impress isn’t a bad option. Shit, he’s only 21 still and the experience he already has combined with his potential could be a great launch pad for him this season.

We know what to do and what we require. An imperative 3 points in the CL Group stage. With the poor start in the league we may see the CL as one of the only routes to a successful campaign. There is, however a solid 90 points still to play for in the league but without question we have to start picking up wins in the league ASAP, even against shitty next weekend. Many fans are disheartened at certain times, myself included and say things we don’t really mean in the heat of the moment. But..

This is my club, this is our club. We defend it for all it’s worth. We’re with you through thick and thin, through mud and glory. We are not just supporters, this is a lifestyle, this is part of who we are, an attachment that can’t be broken, which runs as deep as the ocean. A commitment that has been enshrined with years of blood sweat tears and triumph developing an impenetrable veneer that is generational. We never forget who we are and what we represent. We are all LFC.

Now go fucking get em’ REDMEN!!!
