Finally the Int break is over, we’re back at it at home for a 3 O’clock kick off against Forest. A chance to extend our 100% record so far this season and go top of the league in doing so. We’ve lost just one of the last 24 league games when returning from int break, (w18 d6) and confidence will only be increased as we’re returning to play at Anfield.
We have 2 home games coming up , both winnable and that happens it’s 15/15 which would be the best start under a new manager since, I dunno, sliced fucking ice cream or whatever. It starts again on Saturday though, Slot will undoubtedly start the same 11 I’m thinking unless Mac is deemed unfit to play this one, from what I’ve read he will probably be okay but Slot likes to be cautious we’ve seen.
A few good performances in the last week from Trent Gravy and Jota have caught the eye if that means anything at all, one positive is they’re coming back with confidence at the right time to hit the ground running in PL, that pass from Gravy was absolutely ridiculous. Saw Van de fart throwing out better than bellingham in a few years statements like they’re apples. We’ll see. But if he keeps on improving like he has this season he’ll become undroppable.
We’ve now got 7 games in 21 day, whilst this is madness it’s going to be the most telling period so far in how Slot manages the squad moving forward and how much trust he will be putting into the wider squad. Whatever happens if we come out of this period with almost no injuries then that’s a massive win and good omen for the season ahead. Results wise they’re all winnable obvs.
Forest are unbeaten this season with a win and 2 draws, so they’ll be a tough opponent looking to keep that unbeaten string going. We have to come out rock solid, build on our winning mentality without compromise and complacency. You can see how much Slot is focused and determined which bleeds into the players and you can see that taking effect. More of the same please redmen!!
