After a hugely disappointing knockout we have something to look forward to, a Cup Final at Wembley.
It’s a trophy to win and a chance for Slots reds to feel like winning again, it’s an opportunity to build confidence and winning mentality going into the final stretch of the season. Absolutely nothing is guaranteed and we’ll need to be at our best to make sure we win most of our remaining games to secure no. 20.
It will be a fight though, I wouldn’t even consider us favourites with everything considered. We’re knackered, we have injuries to key players who won’t be available, we’ve played only recently and it’s a cup that’s low on our priority list, well maybe not Slot. This is Newcastle’s season right now and to Howe would love nothing more to lift some silverware. I’m really not confident going in, even though we should have enough it will be another war.
