So here we go then, the start of the CL Journey, the ol big ears, the one we want again. Got a bit unlucky in the draw last season so all we need to do is qualify in the top 16, don’t have to bust a gut to get to the top but that does have some positives.
Atletico have had fairly slow start to their season after 4 games, losing once, drawing twice and winning only once leaving them mid-table. But they did finish 3rd last season behind the usual suspects. This will be no easy task. A dog fight is on the cards.

Top 8 would be the target for us here, I think this is auto qualifying.
It’s hard to judge us so far this season, but comparing it to last season where we only conceded 1 goal out of the first 5 games we’re a little dodgy at the back. It might be nice to have a switch from the Prem and into the first cup competition to give the lads a focus shift. I mentioned this yesterday but as the schedule ramps up Slot and the lads will have less time to overthink things and just play football, score goals and settle in.
Hoping for a solid start Wednesday and looking to knit together a decent performance. The game should be more open so the chances we create will be better.
