As unconvincing as the result was yesterday we definitely saw some scintillating football, we had spaces finally to commit to quick attacks and flowing football. Wirtz and Isak showed glimpses of telepathic understanding. It was a joy to watch. Perhaps if we won 2-0 or 3-0 we’d be increasingly saying how we’re starting to really click. A deflected shot proved otherwise though. In the end we relied on our main stayers, our tried and trusted, our most experienced in Robbo Salah and Virgil who know how to win games and win titles. Virgil was a beast and showed more than ever how important he is to our beloved club. One of the best players to ever put on a Liverpool shirt. Absolute beast who we should never take for granted.
Onto the weekend then. The fixtures look favourable this weekend to potentially extend the 3 point gap we currently hold. Shitty and Arse drawing would be ideal.
An early KO though after a tough mid week CL game is a big ask against Moyes’ Boys. Dred the early kick offs but if we win it’s the best feeling coz we can relax into the weekend.
As we’re getting upto speed and ramping up games we’ll have less time on the training pitch to fine tune our tactics but at the same time we won’t be overthinking games and moments in the games, would like to see a bit more free flowing fear-free play, as we have the players to do this now.
Getting on song is the name of the game on Saturday. We have to come out as we did last night and hopefully get an early goal to open the game up. Moyes will come for a draw no doubt so let’s punish the fuckers.
