PPPFFFFFWWWeelll here we go again lads. Another game and another opportunity to get things right, at Anfield. Pressure has been mounted and it looks like a temultuous week ahead of us. Miles away from that ‘dreaded 2 weeks’ we had last season where we romped fkin everybody! I feel some more big bumps on the horizon.
I think slot should be given more credit right now and more trust to get us out of this rut. At the end of the day he inherited a superb Klopp team and ethos, but he didn’t inherit a title winning team, the last 2 seasons under Klopp we finished 5th and 3rd. So there was still a huge amount of work to do to compete for the title. It’s been a shit few weeks and arguably a fairly poor season with some great wins at the death but the thing that’s changed since last season was bringing in basically half a team to bed in. We can’t expect us to hit the ground running when we do that. The odd addition here and there yes, sure, we expect a single player to crash into the first team and adapt within weeks. It’s almost like when you add 2 or 3 extra 1st teamers on top you’re multiplying the effort and you’re multiplying the effect on the surrounding players by 2x 3x 4x and 5x. Maybe this could extrapolate into needing 3x 4x 5x 6x more time to get things in sync again.
This is why I stand by giving slot the whole season. It’s not us to axe hastily, it’s us to work through the issues, fight through the storm with dignity and trust, knowing the blue sky will come in the end. If we give that to Slot we give him the best shot possible of turning things around.
Would love to see the lads have a massive blow out tomorrow and leave everything on the pitch !
