After a huge win in the CL midweek the focus wasn’t the result it was the performance, the best we’ve seen so far this season. It was the first time we’ve seen this 1st 11 all season, and it doesn’t seem coincidental. We had a perfect balance in that diamond with Slobo RM, Wirtz LM and Macca in the middle with decent support around him. I think the best thing I saw was the speed in which we broke through the lines, allowing us more space to get attacks flowing, resulting in 16 shots on target! A superb performance deserving of praise.
HOWEVER, it’s come waaay too late in the season, the only thing that will save us from humiliation being reining champions is if we now start to see consistent form. Brighton away is a bigger test than Gala at home. They won’t allow the spaces Gala gave us midweek. If he reverts to Slobo playing at RB i’m going to lose my ever living shit. It can NOT happen again.
All eyes on performance tomorrow morning.
