After a dismantling display against Madrid midweek we suddenly find ourselves with a bit of confidence, which is what we really need going into this game. Slot humbled himself somewhat by retreating into a position tactical awareness in the last few weeks, pivoted around the title winning midfield of Slobo Mac and Gravy.
Its so good to have Gravy back now, he instils an essence of calm that was missing for months. Being moulded into a 6 was the best thing he’s ever been subjected to, a Gini -esk player whos also a proper footballer. He’s turned into a footballing powerhouse, running and energizing the midfield into attack, we’re so luck to have him as he’s the type of player who you play with that makes you a better player. Massive game on Sunday for the lad, he needs to at his best for us to be at our best.
Massive 6 pointer this, we win and we go 2 ahead we lose and it’s 4 behind. They’ll be up it after losing to us last year 2-0, which is the only time we’ve won at their ground since the 4-1 drubbing 10 years ago now under Klopp, in the league. Should be an open game though and our chances may come on the counter for the majority of the time. This is where I think Wirtz could start to unleash hell, i’d play him again or at least start him on the LW. I just don’t think you can stop start playing him whilst he’s gaining momentum like this. The team is more settled now which means the pressure has dropped allowing some freedom to play. We have a fairly deep squad now so we can change when needed.
